Lol imagine in like 10 years they make like 2000 pokemons. Gotta catch em all POKEMON! WHO THE HECK WOULD CATCH ALL 2000? I mean did anyone get every pokemon in soul silver and heart gold without cheating? did you catch em all?

I would love for them to do 3D battles I just don't think they will. It would be good if they could at least move in battle instead of 2-4 frozen pictures.

This would be easier and cheaper for them to accomplish with 3d models than to draw several sprites to make a smooth movement.

Yes but it's all about compatibility with the other games. The new games are going to have limited compatibility with the 4th gen as it is for obvious reasons. Think how difficult it would be in the new Hoenn remakes to be compatible with Black & White.

Surprisingly easy actually if they keep the major mechanics and focus mainly on graphic improvement.

Unless, of course, they redo the entire engine which will leave 0 compatibility, but then there can always be migration.

there's always coincides with the anime, so my guess will be mid october- late november.
now lets take a look at the amount of time it takes the pokemon inc of america to translate and make names for the pokemon and leaders, then translate text, work out extra bugs, test, and now add AP, we are lookin at a summer release for US and possibly late summer for EUR regions

and besides the US release doesnt go with the anime, because not alot of kids watch the anime anymore. well not as much as they used to, due to lack of promo commercials

This is a new Pokemon game. Not a remake

I know it's new I'm just saying maybe when the 6th gen comes around in about 6 years time they will finally have 3D battles.

I hope the games after Black white and whatever the third one will be are going to on the 3ds, with battles like Pokemon Battle Revolution. That would keep the series fresh enough to keep me playing them.

imho it's about bloody time we get 3d battles.

The battle style has been the same for years. I don't see it changing any time soon unfortunately.

Agreed. I had hopes for the NDS games since the platform is capable of nice things, but alas...

Even a 2d battle system with sprites like in Chrono Trigger would be awesome. Anything but the bland current system of two almost still images...
