Pokedex Application for you DS!

The first public demo of PokedexDS has been released. It displays the first 9 Pokemon from the game's original Pokedex with descriptions, the location, and a map with the area.

• First 9 Pokémon are viewable.
• Scroll through them using buttons, or touchscreen.
• Different descriptions for different regions.
• Switch through the regions using buttons on the touchscreen.
• Description, name, number, and type is shown for every pokémon.
• A main menu, however, due a bug, you can't go back from the dex to the menu.
• Credits, not complete yet though.
• SKINABLE! Well, not exactly, atm there are only 2 skins, the default one made by me, and the default one, in another color, also made by me

lol, it isn't mine, and someone else made that skin

I suggested that too, so it could be universal, for any game, or for a sexual prank, oh the childish fun

And the picture in USN was messed up, showed up in the bottom, that's fixed now.

Um i think this is the coolest homebrew yet. having an actual Pokedex was a childhood dream of mine... hmmm the memories...

Judging from the picture, you may want to tone down the background where the text appears, or make the text stand out a little more. It doesn't need to be excessively showy, as long as we can use it, right?

Edit: Actually...maybe it's my monitor. It seems fine now. ;

There are, as of 10/09/2008, 493 + variants (like Rotom's, Shaymin's, etc.). Quite a lot of hard work, if you ask me.

Its good progress, the skin is tempory and took wabsta 10 mins (all colors).

We're planning to make it customisable with text files.

Not Bad guys, its a good start!,when this has music and a lot more pokemons, its will be gr8, but 1 thing i dont understand is, if this is going to be like a normal pokedex then whats the point, people can just go to a pokemon game and use the inbuilt pokedex...unless there is something intresting in this app...its not much of a point..

Would be nice if it displays the graphic artwork for each pokemon sprite from every game as well as the different pokedex entry from each game. Would be a massive work though. Also, is this thing played with the DS on it's side?

ten years too late.

Would be cool to scan WiFi networks and each one will be a pokemon unique to that address with its own stats.

Would make more sense then scanning the cat over and over again.

Also a second on the custom skins.
I'd love to make some too.

Does this happen to have a feature to compare height of the pokemon with height of the trainers from the games??
I find that completely useful to me. Even more useful than the location.
