Gaming Pokedex 3ds AR markings Thread

basically you scan these in and you get the shadow of the pokemon
I don't know how to unlock the actual pokemon, just the shadows

Okay, with the AR viewer I could see a few pokemon appearing from the posted signs.
But I get mostly unknown, error.

What else can you do? lol..

Zoom in and out with the shoulder buttons, press A to see the amination and zekrom has a cool one lol.

It gives you an idea of how 3D pokemon will look on future pokemon 3DS games to come.

Hah yeah, not much of a game but a collection =P

Each day you get 3 random spotpass pokemon.
Each code scanned in increases your chance of "catching" that pokemon, so if you have a full roster of scanned in Pokes (the ones that just show up as shadows), you increase your chances of filling the dex quickly.
After you have them, you can send and recieve with 3DS friends to complete quicker, and walking past another dex owner will also net you pokemon via streetpass (provided you and them have different ones)- thusfore if everyone with this scans these in, there is more chance of streetpass hits having different pokemon to you.

The legendaries are not sillhouetted as I am guessing they were to be handed out at promotions- sorry Nintendo, the internet defeated you once again (in no way am I taking responsibility here- I updated way too late to be involved!)

GAME have a BIG pokemon poster of Zekrom up at the moment with the AR slightly smaller bellow

guessing they just change it every now and then

It's actually quite a good tool for telling you what moves you can get through breeding, then seeing which other Pokes have that move so you can work out a chain.

And what do you expect for free, a whole new Pokemon game in 3d?!

Pong, I thought the pokeball AR thing was how it looked if you printed out one of the codes?!

You can check online what breeding moves a pokemon will get?

No, wasnt expecting a WHOLE pokemon game, but a bit more than this could be done?

Perhaps random pokemon battles at least?

It is called "Pokedex 3d". It is a pokedex. It shows pokemon in 3d. What more did you expect?

Still better than 'My Pokemon Ranch', and you had to pay for that! Who knows what they'll do with this in future, currently seems like a "give them something free to make up for the delay on the E-shop" sort of deal, but time will tell!

@Pong, print out a code and point at it- Pokeball AR thing! (just did it meself)
PS print them quite big, I wound up holding Emolga in a GIANT HAND

You don't print out the ar code that have a pokeball logo on it. The Pokeball show up in the background or on the ground when the Pokemon come out when you are scanning the ar code. All you do is crop out the Pokemon ar code from the image below and resize that fit on the A1 Paper.
