Hey folks ! I've lurked here a while and really enjoyed the wealth of knowledge shared here. I've got a puzzle now, and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen something similar .
So I finally got off my butt and started loading my massive Wii library onto a USB HDD. This one, to be specific:

It works very well: it does not spin down during games, loads quickly, and generally has been great... With one exception.
It only works if it is plugged in after the system is booted. If the system is turned on with it installed, no usb loader recognizes it or detects it.
This isn't a huge deal, I guess. It's still more convenient than hunting through a binder or shelf for one of my games, but I would love to know why this happens.
