Hardware Plugging in doesn't power Switch on

Switch starts, charges, & altogether works perfect. The only thing weird is that if the switch is off and I plug it in or put it in the dock it doesn't not show a battery symbol or turn itself on. The only way to turn it on is by pressing the power button. I can verify it does charge properly and when booted it shows it's charging but if it's off when plugged in it doesn't show it's charging

not quite sure on your description but does the switch charge with the charger plugged in both ways? i.e. plug it in when powered on and see if the charge symbol pops up on the screen. If it does turn the charger around 180 degrees and plug back in and see if it still charges.

Also try another Dock. It might be a dock issue.

if the light on the dock doesnt turn green itll be your charger, nintendo are cheap cunts and have provided dead cheap chargers that are prone to fuck up, ive gone through three of the fucking things.

The light blinks once telling me it recognizes I placed a switch in the dock. And the battery charge goes up so I know it's charging it just doesn't prompt the switch to turn on.

first thing I would do is very carefully clean the charge port.

the switch is a twat and takes ages to charge so give it time it should charge up

It is fully charged. It's charging normal.
