I just today got 2 wii's from 2 different people to put gamma on. The first wii owner said he had never updated. The second owner had a BRAND NEW wii bought on October 16. When i started to install TL hack on first wii the system menu said 3.3u. How could this be if he never updated. When I went back to my computer, my router was blocking the wii from getting on the net. After telling him of his wii's status, he told me that he did not have wireless. So I took my laptop, went to his house and picked on 3 open networks. Long story short the wii had been updating by itself from any network it can find. Is the big N really going this far?

Second wii as I said new out of box, bought Oct 16 at k mart had 3.4 on.
How could this be. I thought this new update just came out. Boy they sure fighting hard to stop HB from growing. Bring on BootMii and csm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Possible that it could have had 3.4, but HIGHLY unlikely. Sounds like he did update it, or it may have just auto-updated, which again is unlikely.

It's not brand new from what I'm reading.

He probably just forgot that he updated from a disc or what not. I still doubt we will have auto updates after upgrading to 3.4 until I see it.

No it didn't. If Nintendo were to do that it would go against their old TOS.
The updates cannot install themselves without user consent UP TO 3.4.
After you download 3.4 you are subject to the revised TOS.
