Well i just installed homebrew. What should i do now?

I heard i should install WAD or something like that. And preloader is popular, what are they for and are they nessesary?

And i want to backup zelda twilight princess, any ideas how to do so? So i can run zelda afterwards from my 320gb external harddrive?

help would be appreciated.

what failed to read boot.elf???

the wii wont execute from the card unless you put a forwarder or something into the memory first.
and nothing uses elf anymore either, the file is "boot.dol"

When im trying to install homebrew. I just did the twilight hack, i walk up to the guy and talk to him and it does its stuff.

oh right,

you need to put the homebrew-channel installer boot.dol in the root of the sd-card first.
then when you play zelda the gamesave will load the boot.dol
and you will get a load of "do you wish to install" type text.
you say yes and it does it's thing.

yeah i put it in my root of microsd card.
copyied the hacked save.
ran zelda and talked to guy but it keeps coming up with error.

i tried about 4 times. i even tried with using FAT32 instead of just FAT.

any ideas?

try renaming it to boot.dol

Re-download the .dol from http://hbc.hackmii.com

It once happened to my friend. It's a corrupted .dol

you must not rename it, elf's & dol's are different.
pulling shit like that can lead to trouble.

you need to use fat32, and as was said - try a fresh download of it.
oh - is the card SDHC??? if it is then that may be the problem.
you need to use the older type of card.

micro sd cards are not the best mate and some are very slow BUT try formatting the card again and start over

Try formatting with the official sd format tool

Simply not true!
4GB sd cards exists which are not SDHC..
I have a few of them, and worked fine on the wii prior to SDHC compatibility was introduced..

However they are more expensive than 4GB SDHC, and it took me months to find them.. And a month later 4.0 came out!
