Your opinion is completely subjective, if you wana hear a hell lot of pros against you just go to a facebook fanpage of ps5 and post this same post here and people there will gladly rain fire upon you with all the games and features they love about it
same here. It pisses me of that they move from Japan to california. due to that shit the PS4 version of Senran Kagura: Burst ReNewal was censored/cut. and SK7, i doubt it will arrive and even if producer said it wont like they planned cause due Sony they would have to change many things... i am aware many dont care, but still its stupid asf.
Well the PS4 sold a ton of units and had a ton of solid exclusives, the general public really doesn't care about some minor censorship in niche weeb games.
Exclusivity no longer matters now that it no longer exists, everything comes to PC eventually. Sony is still best positioned to "win" this generation as they don't truly compete with Nintendo any more, and PC gamers buy up Playstation ports like they're limited edition.
The only "downhill" moment Sony have had is during the early years of PS3. Tho it started recovering 2~3years after launch, that's why the PS3 wasn't a failure (in retrospect)..
What I do not like is that they did abandon the exclusive market (timed exclusives at the most). I bought into ps2, ps3 and ps4 for exclusive titles like uncharted, god of war, last of us, tekken, jak And Daxter, time crises and many more.
Having a decent gaming pc I don't feel the need to buy a Ps5 now anymore.. Just wait for the pc port. Personally I think that Sony should have cherished their playstation brand as having the best exclusives ever... Unfortunately that ship has sailed (and so is my incentive to invest in this platform)
Don't think Sony will loose any sleep (seeing the number of Ps5 consoles shipped)
As someone who personally enjoys more of the games from japan over western games, i guess i'm fairly disappointed, but such is life I suppose.
I kinda stopped keeping up with sony anyways and i'm mostly investing in nintendo and xbox (despite that i grew up with sony.)
I prefer games aren't censored to show culture of anywhere, personally. It's not just japan, but it kind of feels like it happens the most there, I guess.
Not only I was around PS1 era but I also owned one and it's still one of my favorite consoles and the only Sony console I like. Games like Tomba and Final Fantasy 7 were localized outside Japan by Sony while in Japan they were published by different companies like the companies who made these games. And for FF7 Sony has spent lots of money at marketing to make it sell at the Western market since Sony was skeptical about the game's success in the West.
But you would knew that if you were around in the PS1 era.

I feel game companies have shifted to these live service game models, I haven’t played a lot of games in the last decade but maybe that’s more attributed to having kids. It was easy to be glued to my console as a young kid as I didn’t have responsibilities or heck even a mobile device keeping me glued.
Not having hacks is not a valid reason to not like a console. My PS4 is hacked since the day I bought it and no other PlayStation console has gathered that much dust with me, while the unhacked PS5 sits always connected to my TV and as one of my main gaming rigs (right next to the BC PS3 and the Wii U so I have everything and anything).
I do agree that many times you NEED hacks because of how much features are locked away (most BC stuff like GameCube on Wii U or PS2 on non-BC PS3) but they are not that important in modern consoles. You're not going to unlock some hidden PS3 emulator on the PS5 and even if you do it'll play like two games.
Most if not all PS5 games will be ported to PC now and later.
The save community is main reason that I got PS3 and PS4, so save community is nonexistent on PS5, hence, I have no plan to get PS5 and will wait for PC release 1-3 years after PS5 releases. Sony removed the ability to backup the save via USB before PS5 entered the final production and I know that is bound to happen after Sony fed up with save hacking on PS4, after Save Wizard became first available in 2017 - less than 4 years in PS4 lifespan.
Yes, there is workaround to back the PS5 up to external HDD but there is consequence - it delete all of data, even game data, exception of save files, so Save Wizard don't see this as worth the hassle. If there is luck - when hacking gets advanced that enable a way to export save to USB media but question would be when, so in worst scenario, it could be never.
As for latest gaming, anyone care about save exchanges, I recommend PC, that it.

Yeah, Sony made a right decision about port their games to PC and I bought most of Sony games on my PC, but problem would be timing - it take while for PS5 games to be ported to PC. I'm waiting for Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Forbidden West and 3 inFamous games to be ported to PC.
and yeah, Nintendo isn't interested to compete to make hardware par with Sony and Microsoft. If Nintendo did, Wii would be first HD console in 2006 and closely follow Xbox 360 to make affordable as possible, but they would left behind with market from PS3 and Xbox 360 instead of sold over 100 millions console.
I do feel that next-gen Nintendo console that is successor to Switch would be fully hacked (full CFW regardless on firmware) first before PS5. I have no hope that PS5 would be completely hacked like PS3 since hacking is only limited to specific firmware.
I feel like the PS4 Pro era didn't even last very long, and that's when they decided to release the first part of the ff7 remake... So I bought one, thinking all the installments would be on it. Now we got a PS5, and have to rebuy the first part for it with the dlc, and hope+pray the 2nd part releases on PS5 and isn't a PS6 exclusive. They better release every installment of this game on at least one entire console gen, or I'm gonna be pissed. I'm already pissed enough that they dropped support for the PS4 Pro for that game after the first installment. Fucking pricks...

Releasing an entire-ass mainline FF game between the FF7 installments while we are waiting for the 2nd part is also a really dick move. (FF16)
