hi guys i've just got my girlfriend a wii for xmas and am in the middle of setting up homebrew.

my goal is to be able to play backup games thru either backup to dvd or preferably a storage media of some time.

i dont have a spare harddrive around to backup stuff to but i have a 8gb microSD card from my phone that comes with a usb connector so i can plug it straight into my computer.

i was wondering, is it possible to use this thru one of the USB loaders that i see on the forums? will it still detect the storage media?

this would be ideal for me as i can have 1 or 2 games on it at a time and just save all the backups to my main computer and swap and change the games onto the sd card.

is this possible? if not what is the best way to go about playing backup games?

It is possible, but its easier to just get a MicroSD to SD adaptor.
Just plug and format it.

Its not too hard to do so you could just try it.

That small of a drive seems like it would be a pain in the ass though.

yeah would my best option just be to get a small USB harddrive like 250gb or something to store backups on?

is this the easiest method used today?

also what would be the quickest easiest way of playing said backups? what program would you recommend as there are tons to choose from.

something like softchip or neogamma? or one of the usb loaders?

Before I got an external drive I tried my own 8gb class 6 micro sd-hc card through usb with an adaptor on my Wii. It never did work. Fortunately the external hard drive did.

I would recommend configurable usb loader as the usb loader of choice. It's not too difficult to set it all up once you read through the tutorials on the forum.
