Hello friends, i know there is no actually emulator for playdia for i was thinking if its possible to burn disc of playdia iso and play on playdia original console hardware?
Is it protect or like the pc engine cd you could burn games and play on it without modification?
Thank you for you reply!!

I don't think you will find out much about Playdia it's too obscure. The best thing is to just try it if you have one.
Fully agree. I searched for it and found very little about this obscure thing.

Create a RAW copy of a legit disc and burn it to a good CD-R. And please share the results.

Some early subchannel and/or bad sectors protections can be successfully reproduced with RAW copying software. Success may vary though.
If there is any "weak sectors", "data position measurement" or "wobble groove" or (whatever other BS manufacturers came up with) protection you're out of luck with consumer equipment. They pulled a lot of tricks on later optical media… to make data inaccessible and structures not easy to replicate.

Sad to hear there is a console without an emulator. Emulation makes games next to immortal.

In any case: Good luck!

Hello.:)

Since there are Playdia Game ISOs for download in the Internet,is seems Backup CDs should maybe work.
Otherwise I see no Sense for them....

Not necessarily, PS3 dumps appeared years before CFW and some people may dump games for preservation reasons.

For a 1994 console, it’s not something I’d 100% assume has no protection, although for something like this I do find it unlikely.

From what I remember it's basically a VCD player right? There was definitely copy protection possible on them but whether or not they bothered on what was basically a kids toy I don't know.

Thats why i want to know because i want to buy one playdia but i dont want pay a lot for the games!!
Nowhere i could find the information if someone burn an iso playdia game and try on real hardware.

Might be worth looking on some Japanese forum if you can.

You don't have to mod your playdia, and it works well with burned disk.
