Play date preorders start July 29th

So you remember the Play Date?
That small handheld, black and white gaming system with a crank on the side. Well I do!

the crank doesn’t charge it, it’s just an analog controller. It’s not back lit, and it doesn’t turn off. It just becomes a clock when not in use.

You get 24 free games over the first 12 weeks of release (2 per week). And it’s super open for developers. WiFi, Bluetooth, and a crank controller.

The pre-orders will be 179.00 usd, and the email I got said that pre orders won’t sell out. The first batch will ship late 2021 and main shipping will start 2022.

personally, this little thing looks pretty interesting. Great for my 6 year old, and it looks robust and fun for me. Check out the website, let me know what you think. The additional addons look cool, like a Bluetooth speaker dock, and a nice cover.

Pretty crazy, with so few available I wonder how many went to scalpers. Having a crank would be nice specifically for fishing games, and that's it.
