Gaming Physical or Digital?

Which do you prefer?

Also lets not forget you can easily switch/take a game over to a friend if you have a hardcopy of it.

For me it mostly depends on the game. If it's something I'm likely to play often but not that long or that has good multiplayer I'll probably get the digital version.

If Nintendo had an account system like everyone else I wouldn't mind going digital or if the price was cheaper going digital. But when the price is the same or some cases more because physical copies go on sale when digital Nintendo games typically don't. I mean Nintendo games made by Nintendo not 3rd party ones. Also if your system dies or is stolen your game is gone for good. True you could say that for physical copies as well but thats not what I am getting at. You can sale physical copies where right now you can't sale second hand digital copies. I just don't see any advantages going digital at least with Nintendo.

The pricing of digital is usually higher than the physical copies, which makes me prefer to purchase physical.

As per usual, I'm sure they'll realize it 2 generations after everyone else. I sure hope not, though.

That remind me of how long did they take to utilize an optical media.
Nintendo 64 was the last 5th gen console to be released, and yet it used catridges,
while sega already used CDs with Mega-Drive as an accessory and with Sega-CD(that basically was a Mega-Drive with the CD port by default)

Sometimes I think Nintendo staff believe they're still living in 90s.
There are so many things that they look simply outdated:
Region-Lock, No account System, Demos with limited usage, lack of not only Blu-Ray but also DVD support etc.

Nintendo is an excellent game developer, but hardware and software(except games) they suck pretty badly.

Always physical, you can back up games, resell games or trade games, if the nintendos servers go down/loose records you will still have a copy, and if DRM comes into question you will always have proof if you purchased the game.

It maybe old school, however I believe Physical mediums for game distribution are the best.
This is GBAtemp after all.
