Hardware Phone to dock?

Has anyone tried plugging their smartphone into the dock? Just curious if it'd work. I'd do it if I had a USB-C smartphone.

That explains the two sticks that it has, it's to keep the device from falling to either side.

Why would plugging a USB-C phone into the Switch dock "break" it? I don't see how it would cause "pyrotechnics" either, since it's literally just a USB hub with support for USB-PD (same voltage and amperage as the AC adapter).

It is 15V docked.

That's after the Switch system negotiates 15V, as per the USB-PD standard. Prior to the power negotiation, it's 5V.

Well, my phone didn't break. It charges for a few seconds and then the light on the dock starts flashing and need to unplug the dock before being able to use it again. After that tried to charge my phone through the dock with my phone's power cable, and it was charging normally.

Btw, Screen mirroring or whatever it's called doesn't work.

I thought my phone did support Displayport. Just looked at the specs and turns out it does not.
