Anyone have experience overclocking a Phenom II with an ASUS M2A-VM motherboard. I see an option in BIOS for loading an overclock profile but I can't seem to adjust the settings for overclocking

A good starting point would be to increase your CPU multiplier by two or three. See if the overclock sticks stably

i've changed my multiplier from auto to 5x with no change so I went back and changed it to 6.5x and still no change? voltage and all other settings are set to auto. is there anything else I can change?

Hi,

Sorry for reopening this thread, I have the same motherboard and the same processor (it is the best processor that this motherboard can have) I would really appreciate if you managed to overclock, you will indicate the values I use.

Greetings and thanks for your time.

Hi,

This video shows an overclock to 3.6, change the parameters Cpu Frequency (MHZ) to 240 and cpu voltage to 1.45
I can't try it on my pc, here it is summer and the PC gets very hot, but it seems to be a good starting point.

Greetings
