@Retroboy the whole point here is not is not to discuss how X copied code from Y, my goal is everytime, any similar topic regard this kind of stuffs lead inevitably to tempers fight and mods keep warn delete offended rage tempers' posts, I just want to find an SOLUTION TO ALL THIS in a very civil and democratic way.

I see here are so many new accounts (msg counts<100), guess TX employees've just subbed to gbatemp to vote this poll, holy shhh xD

I should strict the participants made this poll for old accounts only.
This clearly backfired and now you are suggesting that only old accounts should be able to vote... That's not how voting work.
Why the assumption that old accounts would vote in favor of banning TX post from front page?

We should find a middle ground. I'm an SX OS user myself, but I find some frontpage news items related to SX not worthy, such as the last one (about an update to SX installer). Only updates to the OS itself, or major breakthrough such as support for 7.0 firmware should be worthy of frontpage news. Besides, I wouldn't mind seeing major breakthroughs from the open-source CFW scene also posted to the front-page. As for fighting in SX-related threads, it's inevitable. There are supporters and opponents, and they're always gonna clash. And what's a better battlefield than a SX thread, especially a new one?

lol what is this thread?
I highly prefer Atmo over SX OS and yes they've stolen code. Yet they're still one of the big players in the scene and I'm reading all of their news just to keep track of what they're doing.

Plus their XCI from USB loading feature is still pretty nice. :P

Stop crying like for real.
Start thanking them for making the switch bounty possible.
honestly console hacking will always exist, with or without bounty, remember back to PSP scene? i think think people like Dark Alex hacked and designed CFW for psp was after gbatemp bounty.

Hey, did you know....you don't have to look at it? If it bothers you that bad, quit clicking on the threads.
Or better yet, click the handy dandy "IGNORE" button, and you'll quit seeing it.

that's the solution to AVOID the problem, if i have a problem? i rather chose to resolve it instead pretending to not see it.

Anyway, do you have any better solution ?

First, this is a hacking site. TX is a hacking device and its update is a hacking news. Just because it's shitty and controversy doesn't mean it not news-worthy.

Second, they are our site sponsor. Unless you can consider to become our sponsor in their place, otherwise you should just be quiet. Your voice is only as loud as your action is.

and i went with a clean answer. i just think this community is getting worse by the day. not meant to insult anyone, just pointing something obvious. but yeah, should have worded differently. i'm sorry.
Welcome to 2003, I want my thread back. ;)

But seriously, banning TX news would be just stupid. GBATemp used to be about handheld piracy first. TX news is like back to the roots for that website. I'm still a bit sour that they don't list new scene releases anymore, them not listing any more TX would make them one step closer to one of those faceless news sites that don't want to offend anyone.

Keep the TX news, please.

Sounds like a dumb idea.. tx is a part of the scene. I want to see all releases with one click, therefore I'm here on gbatemp.net.

i don't think we are discussing how people pirate commercial softwares here, maybe stay on topic pls?
It is on topic because you have zero right to bitch about a company stealing code when you are at home stealing from another company.

I think the poll speaks for itself. Stolen code or not, new releases are still news and should be reported as such. Plain and simple.

No different than watching news on TV you either watch what you care or ignore things that you despise. A poll based on thievery would just be hypocritical to voters
considering most of us are um err playing games we didn't buy...

I mean, for the Homebrews I follow, we have one thread for the inital release and every single update is posted on the OP there, all in one place. Weirdly, for anything SX related, we have one thread for every update.
