I saw somewhere on a French DS forum that PDA.DAT is a 'speech file for dictionary'.

To clarify, I believe it is a dictionary db file containing dictionary words.

It is NOT required to use PDA-DS. It is optional.

There is a TXT file with pda.dat. It tells you to copy it into a directory underneath your PDADS directory. It should just work.

I haven't used it myself, but will try to give it a shot this weekend.
