Gaming Pandora Battery Softmodding

Just a quick question as to how I would go about doing this. I did find the option in the ultimate VSH menu but couldn't figure out how to work it or not. I have a PSP 1003 and an official Sony battery to mod (alongside a spare to use as a normal battery). Also wondering how I would convert it back afterwards.
Just wanting to try updating to the newest firmware and seeing how well these new HENs work .I never got the fun of hacking my PSP since it was ready hacked when I bought it.

Once you softmod the battery and then go back down to the firmware you're on already, there should be an option to change it back in the VSH menu.

If not, there are pandora homebrew.

Ok, but how do I convert? Like I said it was in the VSH but I changed that to pandora and as far as I could tell nothing happened.

Just use OSPBT for the conversion...

Doesn't matter, rebooting the PSP did it. Now when i put the battery in the green LED shows with a blank screen

Uhmm...no? 5.50 GEN has a way of converting back though. It was the other option "normal"

Edit: Fine, I made a booby. I have a spare battery though so no biggy. Looks like the only thing that matters is the serial which I've not really got any qualms about having changed.

Yes but that'll use the stock way of creating a random EEPROM value rather than restoring it. Whilst it's probably not going to make much difference, it's been known that these batteries can behave slightly strangely if restored in this way, which is why most decent conversion tools have the option to restore the battery to the state it was in prior to changing it to service mode.

Don't worry about it for now since there's nothing you can do, but if you change it back watch out for any odd behaviour.

Plug in the charger and the PSP will be able to turn on, then you can insert the battery and tell it to go back to normal.

Also, you do know that a pandora does not launch anything without a magic memory stick, right?

I'm not an idiot... I just followed the tutorial in the sticky. Doesn't cover any way to softmod your batteries though (which I knew my PSP was capable of)
Anyway I got it back to normal now.

wow, i remembr the good old days when i had 2 cut my battery open with a stanly knife and hack it that way!! then use a pencil to return it to normal!!!
