I have a psp 2001 model and its been hacked before... my friend updated it when i lent it to him to OFW i have both a 2 gig and 8 gig magic memory stick both magic memory sticks and a pandoras battery so i put the magic memory stick in and hold L as i put the pandoras battery in while the chargers plugged in but every single time i do it the power light comes on and stays green but all i get is a black screen it looks like the screen is totally off and theres the green power light on thats it no menu to choose CFW i have been doin this since like 10:00 am watching youtube video tutorials and such can someone please help me?

When you look at the memory stick in the XMB and hit the triangle button does it report that it's magic gate supported? Not what's printed on the stick but what the PSP tells you.

Well the Memory Stick is not made correctly for what you describe to happen. When you use the Program on your PC does it report back that it's worked fine? Have you tried alternatives?

Oh and also try holding down the R shoulder when you power on. Then what happens.

And with the right shoulder depressed all the time?

Evidently there's an issue with the MMS as the backlight coming on is evidence that the Pandora works. I suggest you try alternate MMS tools and memory sticks. The guide in the sticky here uses grader so try that...
