My friend got a cheap Panasonic Q with a broken DVD drive, and in order to remove it, I cut the FFC cable that controls the disc spinning mechanism (I think...)

What are my best options for replacing the drive? Wasp Fusion plus Megadrive? Installing a Wii drive? Something else?

Shouldnt have cut it. Main problem with these panasonic q disc trays is the rubber belt is worn out. Easy replacement and works like new in the end.

I'm well aware that's the issue 99% of the time. This is the 1% where someone kicked the disc drive while it was open and physically destroyed half of it.

I ended up installing a WASP Fusion in January.
