ROM Hack Ouendan 2 downloading the EBAs?

Ok, I got the cheats onto the save, but now I can't get the save to work. I'm trying to use the save in the game, but it just deletes it and starts a new game. So anyway I can get it to work?

(This is the first time I've tried save hacking, and I have little idea what I'm doing, so it's probably because I'm doing something wrong.)

(It also might be because I'm using a Max Media Dock a my Flash cart (It Sucks) and you have to put the save onto a donor cart for the game to work/save. (Using Phoenix Wright.) My normal save works though.)

Yeah, I don't get this save hacking thing.

I don't use DS emulators so I have no idea how they work. Like how do I use my own Ouendan 2 save when running the rom? And I have no idea what trimming the head and tail means.

So if somebody could help me, I'd highly appreciate it.

Phoenix Wright has a different save type to Ouendan 2. Therefore that won't work...

It saves normally, but I can't get the hacked save to work. I can't explain it, but it works to save, so the cart's not the problem.

I'm having a problem with the R4 cheat method. I can't open the cheat.dat with the code editor (datebase format error) and I can't create a new one that can be read in the R4. What am I missing here? The instructions are no help on this problem.

Edit: Disregard this post. I always overlook the sticky posts and I found the cheat faq in the R4 section.

Copy the save from your cart to the computer. NO$ adds its own data to the start and end of the file, so you need to delete them before copying the save back to your cart.

wouldn't it be easier if someone just uploaded their save? also, if you erase all of the data (l r a b x y after nintendo/inis) would it still erase the eba characters?

Some people don't like to have their highscores erased, like myself. Thay's why I'm hoping someone makes a patch and trying to learn how to save hack.

Hmmm, i have ran into a problem, I put the cheat on my SCDS1 and then it worked and after I turned it off i loaded the game without the cheat and the characters werent available anymore.. Do you need to keep the cheat on to use them?

OK, this is a REALLY stupid question:

I have a M3 Simply, and I know it supports cheats, but I don't know how to add them via USRCHEAT.DAT . Can anyone help me by explaining or just making a USRCHEAT.DAT with this one cheat?

Oh, and I read the cheat guide, but the code isn't accepted

Edit: it was even more stupid than I thought. I didn't know that the first line was the Game ID

Complete a level with the cheat on. That will make the game save.

I tested it, and it works. I just took the latest usrcheat.dat from the appropriate thread and added the code to it. It didn't erase any high scores for me, but I'd backup your save just to be safe.
