OTP Guide

Full Guide Release!

https://plailect.github.io/OTP/

All regions now supported!

If you appreciate this guide and the work I put into maintaining it, I accept donations through both Bitcoin and PayPal.

If you felt like the guide helped you out then I'd really appreciate it! If I get enough I may buy a 2DS for testing hardware stuff so I don't break another N3DS.

If the guide didn't help you out then I'm really sorry about that :(

Could someone possibly compile arm9loaderhax for me? i have my otp. im just lost and dont know where to get the native firms from the new 3ds

Search Google for arm9loaderhax data_input pastebin. That'll get you the secret sector and FIRMs.

I'm running into the issue that when sysupdater is trying to install 0004003000008F02.cia, Home Menu, the "An error has occurred" screen comes up. Luckily I'm installing to emunand. Was this ever solved? (o3DS USA)
Bro I think I was able to solve it, although no guarantees as someone has proven this to be possibly false, but basically, if you're on 9.2 emunand, update it to something higher using the normal system update, so 10.5 in this case. If you aren't on 9.2, then just make a backup of whatever you're at and update using the normal system update then try. I'm still trying to get to the bottom of it, but a higher firmware then the one you're currently on seems to be working for people like you and me.

Anyone knows the key combination for starting a restore?

So I got the OTP dumped and I was trying to restore back to 9.2. The arm9.bin build of Decrypt9 decides to restore NAND.bin (which is my 10.5 emuNAND) to sysNAND w/o asking which file to restore, I closed the lid and unmounted the mSD in order to rename my sysNAND file and try again. The display was gone completely when I reopen the console (no backlight but WiFi LED still blinks) and I'm now stuck with a brick or a non-CFW 3DS unless I hardmod. I haven't restarted my 3DS yet, so there's still some hope for me if D9 didn't crash completely and the cursor was highlighted at "NAND Restore" before the 3DS entered sleep mode.

Learn from my experience, make sure you name your sysNAND backup as NAND.bin before restoring with 2.1 build of Decrypt9 and don't close your 3DS while restoring
So rename the modded sysnand.bin to NAND.bin before downgrading sysnand?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Seems like no ones bricking that's a good sign

ughhhhhh, i have absolutely no clue what im doing. If someone could lend a hand, please shoot me a pm. I dont want my efforts to get my otp to go to waste lmao.

Just ignore my post, the file name displayed on screen in the 2.1 version of D9 was incorrect, although you want to make sure your sysnand dump is the only nand file of the SD card just to be safe.

I'm actually on 4.1.0-8U sysnand and went through some trouble to get the same version emunand. Would be odd if emunand version made a difference as you are downgrading = installing lower version cia's. I just noticed that sysupdater says to use the home button when you are using the .cia version?

You can keep trying to downgrade emunand, but I'm 99% sure it'll always fail at 8F02. Since you're downgrading, you'll lose emunand anyways so just try updating emunand and go for it. If you really are worried, backup emunand. It means if you want to chicken out, use the home button.

Well I did check the OP earlier (when it had just a few pages) hoping to find such information there (which I didn't find on google a few hours ago) and suddenly it's 60 pages when I got back and still nothing new at OP soooo.... .-.

Actually the OP links to a guide which has all the latest info and a FAQ right on the first page.

Mine worked fine. Don't worry. my copy of sysUpdater kept breaking after NATIVE_FIRM, but it's fine. Go to 9.2, then to 4.3-4.5, then to 2.1
