-> The Story (You could skip, it's kinda long)

So here's the story. Way back my cousin gave me an R4. I got it as a gift since I recently got a DS. Long story short, the SD card got corroded I guess, and stopped working. My backup files were on my broken laptop therefore, it was near impossible to retrieve my files. I managed to get most of the files back through an application but most of the files were corrupted. Now fast forward to modern-day. I bought an R4 preloaded with games I found appealing (Pokemon, Zelda, etc.). This was on an R4 Gold 2019 Model. All the games worked, so I figured hey, I should transfer some of these games to my original R4. I retrieved all the themes from my original R4 but that was it. For some reason, Pokemon Diamond and Mario Kart worked on the DS, like the icons actually popped up, indicating that it could run. I had an error with one of the files that gave me the UUUUU.uuu thing. I backed up my files and wiped my sd card clean. I copy and paste everything back in. Now, none of my games work, including the ones that did work previously.

-> Actual Problem

Basically, My R4 now doesn't want to run my games after it ran it previously. (before the sd card wipe) It shows the white DS Icon instead of the corresponding game icon. Now, none of my games work. Keep in mind I'm not using WoodR4, I'm using the original Kernel. I prefer using the original instead of WoodR4 so I'm asking if there's any way to fix this issue without switching to WoodR4.

-> Notes ( in order )

  • I got Pokemon Diamond and Mario Kart working for a period of time (out of all of my games)
  • I got the UUUUU.uuu
  • I wiped my sd card clean and put back everything in)
  • Now surprisingly none of my games work, Pokemon Diamond and Mario Kart (previously working)

-> Conclusion

My games won't run anymore on my original R4. I'd prefer not to use WoodR4 but if that's the only solution, then so be it. Any suggestions?

What's so bad about the superior WoodR4?

You need a normal SD (not SDHC or SDXC) card formatted using this tool: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/eula_windows/index.html
It should format it to FAT.

Also, as @Shadow#1, I think you'd need to switch to WoodR4 for higher compatibility. However, if you want to keep the UI of the original R4, you could use TWiLight Menu++ with the autoboot pack.
