Gaming Hardware Optical dive emulation for the PlayStation 2 on the way?

Bob from RetroRGB has been teasing something for the PS2 to be announced "in a week or so", which could be any time now, apparently a new way to load disk images.
I'm really hoping that somebody's finally decided to make an ODE for the PS2, so it will be possible to load PS1 images without emulation via Popstarter or load PS2 images without a modem.

cool if so, ps2loader is nice and compatibility isn't bad at all, but something more modern that just works basically 100% (like gcloader) will be better.
not sure if I would replace my current ps2 setup, or buy another console for it.

- and a massive bonus if works with all models!

It would be another nice solution to add to the existing ones available.

I've got a spare with a faulty DVD drive so it would be perfect for that.
