Buying a system for a REMAKE is just flat out retarded.

Some people never got to experience the original. They've already mentioned a change to the Water Temple, but that may not be the only change/addition. We could get "a" Master Quest, which may or may not be the original one. Maybe an extra dungeon after you beat the game, or other sort of goodies like emulated versions of the NES and SNES games (since it's release is within a few months of the 25th anniversary). Who knows...
They only mentioned the WT change to the public because people had expressed their frustration with it back in the day.
so basically all we have is texture changes and a easy water temple...

I know it's frustrating not having the games we all want available at launch. But think how it could be worse. Example, you could be me. I started saving up for my 3DS only to find myself in very deep financial smeg thanks to a few forced lifestyle changes, then my hours get slashed at work because the store under-performed in the two weeks I was on vacation. Exactly why my hours are getting cut as a result is beyond me. I have £100 on a GAME gift card saved so far, plus my £10 deposit. So I need another £110 for the system, and a good £80 or so on launch day for a couple of games to amuse me while I wait for the big guns. At this point it's looking increasingly likely that I'll be using trades after all. At this rate Test Drive Unlimited 2, since this fabled fix seems to be nowhere in fucking sight. >:( Not that it matters, by the looks of it my TV is gonna explode in my face and kill me any day now, that discoloured patch is getting worse.

Personally I'd love to have Zelda on my 3DS, but I don't deem it an absolutely top priority. I still have my beloved N64 around here somewhere (underneath the pile of what was at one point clean clothes, I guess) and my original copy of the game, which I bought a few weeks after the launch from a friend who needed to raise money for cigarettes urgently to fight his cravings. He rather foolishly agreed to take whatever I had in my wallet at the time for about half a dozen of the best N64 games of the time. I paid him about £12.

I've never "finished" OOT, but now that it's portable I can see that happening. Portable gaming is awesome...Aw who cares about ports/remakes....they've done so with many classic games and apparently no one seems to complain as they keep doing (i.e Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV)

I find it odd you went for Final Fantasy IV there instead of the original. The first Final Fantasy game has been released more times than a porn star's money shot. Here's the list so far.

- NES original, obviously
- MSX2 port
- Wonderswan Colour (whatever the hell that is)
- PS1 as part of the Origins disk
- GBA as the 'Dawn of Souls' pack
- Mobile phones, too many to mention
- PSP rerelease of what was essentially Dawn of Souls with a minor graphical tweak and one new dungeon.
- Virtual Console
- PSN
- iOS.

And that's just the list to date, I'm sure they'll continue to milk it for every last drop.

Which is based on pictures, videos, demos, and word of mouth. What hasn't been said is that this is all we are getting from the remake.

And you're hopeful for more.
Greedy fudger.

Where's your basis for thinking there's more, eh?
At least what she said she has proof in the form of official announcements.

That...was a very short rant, in fact, it was more like an something you were mad about that you needed to get off your chest.

Anyway, because of my love for remakes and OoT, I'll probably buy it. Well that is, if they add new stuff other than just 3DS features (I want the Skull kid to have a backstory like in the manga, darn it!) I'm serious, it could be excused on the N64 due to the DD not being released, but they have a stronger system and more space/time now, they better make good use of it. I love the game, and it was going to be a selling point for me, but when I think about it they really could be letting a huge opportunity pass them by.

When Nintendo remade Super Mario 64 for the DS, they redesigned a number of parts, and added some others in. I'm just pointing out that what we know is all that they have given us, as they haven't said or shown anything further. Companies hold back information all the time. I brought out possibilities, that's all.

I honestly thought this was going to be a launch release. I mean, Nintendo usually releases a remake of a classic for their handhelds at launch (Super Mario Bros. 2 for GBA, and Super Mario 64 for the DS). I also thought that Kid Icarus was going to be a launch game. I am so disappointed that I'm not even sure if I'm going to be really happy to get a 3DS. All I can say is, DS(i) flash cards had better work on it, otherwise I'm gonna be very bored.

Not to throw you guys down but it's almost definite that this won't have special features.

If the throw in something that wasn't there, there's the chance of hardcore fan disapproval. And I don't think they want to risk it.

I think they even mentioned it in an interview. Something along the lines of "The fans want Ocarina of Time and that's exactly what we'll give them" I don't think those were the exact words nor I can confirm they were talking about this game but I'm pretty sure something like that was said.

Well I've only played the beginning of Ocarina of Time… I never had an N64, and I only played the beginning on the Virtual Console on the Wii. I think it'll be great on the 3DS, with or without extra features (which I think it definitely will have) because it'll all be new for me.

Still though, the fact that it's not out at launch is disappointing… I'm not getting the 3DS JUST for this, but still, the other launch games are not that exciting for me. I'm ordering the system, and then I'll play Pokémon Black on it.

lololol so much flame. im so warm ;P

guys OoT is arguably the best game in the Zelda series. Yes, it can be played via emulator and with enhanced graphics, etc. However, for fans of the Zelda series and especially for the 20 year olds out there who have played the N64 version when it first came out (12 years ago!), we can finally enjoy the game in 3D PORTABLE glory.

We can save sexy zelda in a boat, with a goat, in the rain, in the dark, on a train, in a box, with a fox, in a house, with a mouse, I can play here and there! I can play it anywhere!

However i do agree with you, i still find the games quite weak, and none of them are my types...(I know

) out of all those genres!
Nintendo Player's "type" of game is Nintendo games.
Epic RPG's like Zelda, Platformers like mario, donkey kong, kirby, etc.
I don't think there's a rpg in the list at all.
The only platformer is rayman, (and I'm not even sure it is) but it's by ubisoft.
I just don't trust ubisoft to give me a game worth 35 euro.
Price is an obstacle too, 25-30 euro and I'd be willing to try out some inferior products, but at 35 I'm just not willing.

Haha, very true! there aren't any RPG's on the list and Rayman games are always awful.
Just look at Rayman and the Raving Rabbids.. they completely got rid of him and kept the more entertaining rabbits!
I'm surprised they're bothering with Rayman anymore.

Good point...I forgot all about FFI honestly
