Gaming Online Sub Question

Hi guys. I have a Nintendo Switch Online Subscription (Individual Plan, not Family) that expires this year in September. If I renew sub for another year, does that add time to my current sub? How does that work? Thoughts and help appreciated

It will add time after the expiration date. Example if you expire October 2020 if you renew then you will accumulate a year it would expire on October 2021
