Hacking Omega 2.2, Mario Kart 7

I updated to Omega 2.2, dumped my mario kart 7 cartridge, and renamed it to 3dz. When I go to play online it gives me an error that I need to update the software via eshop. How do I fix this? Can eshop be used to update the software without updating my system? If so, whats the process of updating mario kart 7's software via eshop? Thank you.

You need to use emunand to get into the eshop so you can download the mario kart 7 1.1 update

Make sure you have the latest emunand 7.1 and head into eshop (it should not ask you to update) then find the Mario Kart 7 1.1 update

If you do need to update the emuNAND DO NOT update it via e-shop. Update it through the "System Settings".

If you don't feel like going through the emunand/eshop route, you could extract the header data from your personal dump and insert it into the REV 01 scene release by BigBlueBox. That version should already have the 1.1 patch built-in.

Your SD card and yeah just download from eshop

no once its set up it stays set up, but you may have to update it if you haven't already

I have never updated it. I have to update it via system settings once I am in GW3D mode and then go to eshop once GW3D is at 7.1 correct?

Also, when I format my emunand, does it delete my game saves from my SD card?

I wouldn't go ahead with it now, there's a new 3DS update out apparently and we don't know what it does

eshop won't work now with the latest update just stick to what you have until more is heard as it also makes system settings not work.

if you can get hold of the rom with 1.1 patch pre-installed you should still be ok to play mario kart online though

I dont want to risk being banned with the possibility of the same rom out there. Unless I can somehow hex edit the patch into the rom?

yeah you can use your own mario kart, cart id and inject it into the 1.1 version

Also, for monster hunter 4, if I need to update the software version to play online. how can I do this via US eshop when its a japanese game?

there is a tool in this thread on the first post, just have a read through the thread, (just the first post will probably be enough though)

basic steps are, open your gateway dump and extract the cart header info, then open the 1.1 version and inject the data extracted from your cart into that rom, then rename it to .3dz and you should be set for online play

Ok, but what about this. I have a copy of monster hunter 4. I want to play online with it. But when it needs a software update...how do I update it when I only have access to USA eshop?
