I had my switch modded by some dude on the internet last summer. It was working great since then but stopped booting last night. Initially the LED was pulsing purple, then would switch to flashing orange and then solid yellow before turning back off. I got in touch w the guy who modded it, and he said to remove the ribbon cable with UP written on it, which would allow me to at least boot to OFW. He said that he’d need to permanently attach the dat0 connector to get it back to normal use.
I removed the cable, but that still didn’t work - except now the LED was flashing purple instead of pulsing. After finding this, the guy said as a last resort I should cut the 3v3 cable to bypass the mod chip entirely. I did this but still no dice - now the only thing that happens when I press the power button is some faint coil whine. When I explained this to the modder, he said he had no idées what was happening and that it might be above his level to fix
I’m wondering what to do here? Is there anything I can do to get to OFW at least? And what might be the issue/any steps to solve it to get back to CFW?
