So, I am using the old OS and noticed that there are a few tabs on the top of the top screen. How exactly do I access them? I tried using the touch screen (pressing in the analogous place where the tabs are on the top screen) but that didn't work...

Press L+A so the two screens swap places, then you can tap it. But why don't you just use the EOS?

Hold R and use the D-Pad to access the menus when they are on the top screen, or swap the screens and use touch.

What I did was edit the config file so the top screen is always on the bottom and you can run both OS on the same card. Just launch MSFORSC.NDS to go into the old OS.

Any benefits to using the new OS if I'm just using it for emulators/ homebrew?

Better compatibility. Just use the new OS, it looks and feels better. And works better, too! Also, tomorrow apparently there is an update for the EOS so I suggest you wait for that one [IMG]

If you need help on installing the EOS, check the FAQ I made (sticky in this section)
