Hi all, I have a Wii with 4.2E Firmware modded in the 2012. Now Neogamma fail to mount my hard disk (it worked last time I used it, about 2 years ago).
Can you advice my the better way to proceed? Should I use the modwii with the wii already modded? Thank you very much.

Does the hdd work on a computer? Have you tested it e.g. chkdsk?

Edit:

Is it also plugged into the correct USB port on the Wii?

Thanks for you reply, On PC I can read it with WiiBackupManager (see picture attached)

I tried both USB port, In the past it was always connected to the right port seeing wii from back (see picture attached)

Thanks a lot.

I have not tried yed, what can I use?
Could it be you updated your loader to a version that only reads fat32 (since you say only backup manager seems to see the drive on pc, i'm guessing you're on WBFS partition)?
if not, what ciosses are installed, can you redo those? this for i had some times accidents running an override by installing unknown update. never known why it got overwritten by a stub though.

I don't know If I updated somtething to a new version or what ciosses are installed, The Wii was off for 2 years but it's possibile.

Can I redo the mod using modmii? There are any risks?

Do you have bootmii as boot2 and/or priiloader?

Using ModMii on a previously modded Wii is fine.

I don't know, where can I see it?
Put BootMii SD files on SD. It should start BootMii on power on if installed in boot2.

Hold (Reset) on power on. This starts Priiloader if installed.

Good luck and have fun!

not so many risks, just know there are 3 wii's different in software and hardware:
  • wiiu using vwii (so it needs vwii cios(x))
  • Wii mini, (wich needs big or large cios(x) i thought)
  • and then there is just the wii (this can be modded with all ciosses not mentioned above).
