I tried to update my old 3DS to FW 9.2 [FBI Sysnand]
But, when i was installing the CIA's, somehow it freezes in installation. [SD card got corrupted]
Anyway. I wait for 2 hrs and it doesn't react.
I try to reboot, but. Nothing. Just the power on, just black screen.

So, i saw some methods to restore de sysnand. [I do have backup of my sysnand]

Like this:

It is possible to restore it?

Looking for a tutorial, i just found for 3DS XL. Motherboard it is different from XL. Does any one know the points or have a picture of the Motherboard to put the wires?

If it is not possible. It i change the Motherboard, it will work?

You should have done some research before attempting to mess with sysNAND.

Upgrading the firmware in sysNAND via CIA BRICKS THE SYSTEM.

This is not true, I have updated plenty of systems using cia update packs and still haven't bricked a single one.

@yohuchiha You have to install SYSUPDATER and use it with rxTools DEV MODE or PastaCFW to avoid bricking the system, you only had to place the updates in your SD, run the app and the rest is done by sysupdater.

I still find it amusing why people decides to casually boot FBI/BBM and install updates without doing any research tho.

Yep. Devmode FBI, and install Sysupdater.
I saw a guy doing it.

I'm looking for the Motherboard to put the wires to connect it on my PC.
then you did the updating correctly, although you got unlucky and bricked. good luck with the hard-mod. (you could also contact someone like @hundshamer to do the hard-mod for you)

it's very hard , even if you manage to pull off the game card slot , the clock part is usually covered with some kind of glue , wich will probably destroy the resistor you have to solder to , making your motherboard useless , but if your are you are skilfull with soldering , then give it a try

I have a question.

Can i boot my motherboard without 3ds top screen. Would be much easier if i install nand w/ only motherboard and power on.

Like this:

You could, but how would you know your wiring is good and the mod worked without having the errorcode feedback on the screen?
This is risky...

Unless you solder, put it back together, check the errorcode is correct (meaning your wires are ok), tear the 3DS apart again..... but that would be dumb since if you're checking the errorcode you're literally 90% already in the process of reflashing your NAND :P

My take on this: if you have the skills to do the mod yourself, don't save time in doing this. Spend as much as you need to do it properly, this is how I do :yay:

Go for it and good luck!

If you screw up, as long as you don't break anything (rip a trace, burn the motherboard, let it drop, things like this) and still have the NAND backup, you can always save your console!

Dev mode FBI? There is no such thing lol.
There is only:
rxtools dev/pasta mode
pasta without firmlaunch
minipasta
maybe some others iirc
