OG XBOX Xecuter 2.6

Hello every 1 been trying to put a softmod on a o x with evox & a Xecuter 2.6 installed but it wont let me back up the ms dash
or install the softmod ether with the chip on or off gives a error message -

So to clarify, is the HDD running a stock dashboard or was it previously modded? I ask because you make it sound like it already has evox installed.

yes evox - the old 39 version is installed on the hd & is modded .. thought i could install a softmod on it as well but if i leave the mod chip on it wont load the soft mod menu - so on off the chip loads the soft mod menu but wont let me back up the ms - dash

Do you know the method used to install that dashboard?

Track down a copy of Slayers CD and nuke the drive.
Since the unit is chipped, it doesn't care about locked harddrives nor empty ones.
You can always boot off off CD with a modchip, bypassing basically everything that checks for HDD contents, thus allowing you to easily upgrade/reinstall Dashes (including a stock MS dash)

There is an Xbox softmod all in one disk floating around that can rebuild the hdd unlock and lock it as well

Prob off a cd back in the day but i didnt do it i bought it 2nd hand

I'd just backup any saves and 'start from scratch' then as others have suggested, although I've never done it myself.
