But im already on the latest official FW from Nintendo. What im asking is, does updating the controller when prompted actually effect anything with homebrew or getting the console in RCM etc?

No, just add the exFAT driver, I get the exFAT support on official way too weeks ago and I still on 5.1.0 with all CFW stuff working without problems.

There are some reports about homebrew + exFAT data corruption (of SD Files, your switch still intact), but for now all it's fine for me.

Being on the latest firmware doesn’t mean you have the Exfat update installed...:)
ChoiDujourNX allows the installation of Exfat update only..., without the entire FW

So is the controller update related to the ExFat update then?, as i thought it was just an update for the joy cons?

No, the controller update is just that; an update for the controllers. The exFAT 'update' is not even really an update but a patch so that your console will support exFAT formatted SD cards. Nintendo's only allows people on the latest firmware at the time to download the exFAT update except for firmware 1.0. For example, a month or two after the console came out, the latest firmware at the time was 2.0. So if you insert an exFAT formatted SD card (which is how you trigger the exFAT update) then you would have downloaded the exFAT update onto your console on firmware 2.0. Therefore, exFAT is not related to firmware but only the latest firmware at the time. Also homebrew allows us to get exFAT on any firmware except 1.0

Thanks for the clarification, So if im on FW 6.0 already then how would i go about installing exFAT on my switch as dont you need a game that requires the same FW that your Switch is on?

Weird things happening. Switch working fine on 5.1 Latest ReiNX that was hot fixed to fix with sleep 6.0. All working fine. 2 Days later everytime switch goes into sleep it doesnt wake up. Hold power 12 seconds turn off reload payload it works. Well now, every time I load payload i get splash screen then real quick white screen flicker and then nintendo logo boot splash. It just hangs infinite there.

My titles is working fine with 6.0 patch but the homebrew menu under photo album doesn't work. Any thoughts? I'm using the "ReiNX-705bd5f" build.

That build doesn't have the folder ending in 100D located under titles as well as hbmenu.nro which should go on the root. Download both from the guide.
Why fs_mitm not in by default anymore?
Because it doesn't work on all firmwares, namely 3.X and below

Does reiNX have a way of deleting the update nag? I forgot to put on Airplane mode before going to work and now I'm getting the update nag every time I turn on my console.

Guys, I need some help! Is there a ReiNX build that supports firmware 6.0. I'm having trouble with the sleep mode. And I'm using a dongle to do the payload so is there a .UF2 instead of .BIN file that I can use?

Thank you! But i've tried to find this program but I cound't. If anyone knows such a program I'll apreciatte.
