You can use text, and can attach a USB keyboard or use wiimote to type.

Also it has pre wirrten common messages like Hello, Thankyou, Goodbye e.t.c to make it easier.

3 freinds can come to your town and i think friend list is unlimited, I have about 20+ so far.
