Hacking Oct 23rd Fix?

Ok call me paranoid, but I wnat to do the October 23rd fix as seen here so i can install WADs on my home menu

But i first wanna know, whats the chance of it bricking my wii? I just wanna make everything clear before i undertake this

i know how you feel im paranoid as hell when i have to do stuff like this to my systems.
Fortunately I didn't have to downgrade to 3.2E and I have a modchip installed so for me it was a bit less risky I guess, but things can mess up so I strongly recommend you downgrade to 3.2E and once there install Starfall, if your Wii messes up starfall should be able to help you restore it.

Again, i can't help you much man, just offering some friendly advice, 3.2E is the safest firmware to be on atm.

you can always just remove the IOS WAD using anytitle remover.

As long as you read tutorials and get as much information onto doing this the process youll decrease the chances of making a mistake and screwing up.
There are many tutorials out there on how to do a downgrade.
I just did my first one yesterday.
It is quite simple.
If you don't understand anything try using the SEARCH function first.. if stiill you don't understand then post on the forums or PM me.
(PS: I downgraded yesterday using the SoftMii 2.0 Guide (PHASE 2 - 3 : About downgrading and having a safe 3.2 E/U/J system)

And as far as I know the chances of bricking your wii are minimum if you follow the steps properly.

Heres what you do...

This is what i did yesterday to apply the OCT 23 FIX (Downgrade the Wii)

1: Install HBC using Twlight Hack (You Don't need to do this if it is allready installed)
2: ---TAKEN FROM SOFTMII2.0 PDF (BY THE SOFTMII CREW)
Run IOS Downgrader (You Need An Internet Conenction Perhaps)
Run AnyRegion Changer (Found in Softmii Package .. visit www.softmii.org to download package)
IGNORE stuff about Korean Wii's and Discs
Press A
Look at the mid-bottom options, about installing "3.2 (or 3.3K)", and leave it on 3.2E for PAL /3.2U for NTSC
SINCE YOU HAVE "E" "PAL" SELECT 3.2E
Click "GO" and then answer then answer YES when it asks if you are sure.
Answer "NO" when it asks about Korean Disc Loading
Answer "NO" when it asks you to install SPECIAL STARFALL TYPE-HACKS.
Wait for finish, can take a few minutes. Then press HOME when finished to reboot

PS: IF YOU NEED THINK YOU NEED STARFALL HACKS THEN PRESS YES WHEN IT ASKS.
