OCDM - Mario Maker 3DS course manager

OCDM stands for Online Course Database Manager

Features*:
  • import and export courses, both** 3DS and WiiU
  • cryptofix saves (if the game marked your save as "corrupted")
    • Note: this will overwrite the LockoutID in your courses, not in the save file, so please be fair and don't reupload others' courses :)
  • make/apply save snapshots (exports all files which are used in the save)
    • Note: please format your save data before restoring your save otherwise the game could mark your save as "corrupted", and this one is not cryptofixable
  • browse SMMDB
    • download courses
    • discontinued

*: these features are in the latest build at the time of editing this post, so functionality in the public build could differ
**: due to differences in the 3DS and the WiiU version, importing a converted course file on a foreign platform could crash the game on loading the course

So what will the server be like? And how long do you think uploads will taje with ocdm? Is it going to be a long time or just a few seconds? @MarcusD

Thing is why this editor is taking so long is because save editing needs to be found out for it to work. You can inject courses just by editing extra data but you need dummy courses to overwrite or they won't show up, so the save needs to be edited for that.

The issue is the save is tied to mii character data as well as your save. Thats why the game deletes it if it doesnt match the mii character.

Well, I guess, what he can do is ask the user of OCDM to create a dummy course in slot 1 and overwriting it again and again, I guess, it might work.. or not?

We have 3ds course to wii u course converter now we need wii u to 3ds course converter so people can put course they made in wii u version on 3ds version. Would be useful because then we can just dump a lot of good courses from wii u version and play courses people share on the wii u version.

Wrong, it isn't tied to the Mii character in any way, you can change it just fine. It's tied to your specific SMM installation. It seems that lockout IDs are generated from some kind of seed since reinstalls on the same console yield different IDs, however you can't exchange them between 3DSes.

Oh really? Try it in citra without the same mii as your save. Come back when you have done that. You will see you are wrong.

I know! :P But proving me wrong on a platform where the game is nowhere near meant to be played just seems silly. How about trying on actual hardware first?

Do you know what emulation is? Im starting to think you know very little about anything anymore

I know what emulation is, but no emulation can be perfect. AFAIK now Citra is able to play many retail games but is still under heavy development.

I'm in the same boat with an O3DS but it's not too bad. Go on youtube and there are the levels, you'll quickly beat them. Legit might take a week if you get stuck a few times.

Oh I've tried the challenges there not hard it's just that really Nintendo? You want me to waste my time playing levels in order to unlock what the game is about? Like I expected all the elements and warps and stuff like that to be unlocked but no you must waste your time doing bullshit to unlock it. That's my view. Fuck this I'm not doing the challenges lol.

I've tried reading through several pages of the comments. It's still unclear to me.

Can we dump our save from the 3DS and let another person that has a Wii U have the level and upload if from their system?
I do not own a Wii U, but I have a level I'd like to upload. No one I know has a Wii U either.
I'm concerned that the user/account names wont line up if the level is uploaded, and it ends up being kicked. Or worse... the person that uploads your level gets a ban. That would not be cool.

Another question I have not seen the answer to yet. Will the level dumped from the 3DS maintain is "Cleared" status? Like once it is injected into a Wii U, will it have to be cleared again before it can be uploaded?

I haven't tried the online aspect yet of MM for 3DS. I know there is a lack of online features, but we can download "compatible" courses and those Nintendo-cherry-picked online courses too, right? Either they are converting those courses to 3DS-compatible or they load naturally.

I think that the levels are stored in the same format on the server and it's up to the device that downloads them how it saves those levels onto its own local storage.
