Ocarina of Time

I forgot how the conversation started but it eventually led itself to the topic of Zelda. He said that he only played Link's Awakening of GameBoy, and says he quit early in game because he couldn't read it, and used that to judge/stay away from the series. Then he goes on about GTA being the greatest franchise.

Granted the Zelda games aren't too mind blowing, but I consider the franchise among the most pristine in the business...

GTA is fun but not as good as the Zelda series although i dont really find Ocarina of Time to be the best in the series A Link to the Past and the original The Legend of Zelda are better IMO.

Link's Awakening is one of the best portable versions of Zelda with the Oracle series (the DS games are crappy). And Ocarina of Time will stay the most impressive episode of the serie (first in 3D, awesome game, good difficulty,...) It's only from The Wind Waker that the Zelda's quality started to lower IMO. No more difficulty (I've finished Twilight Princess in 2-3 school days, and now Nintendo wants to make the next one "more accessible") no more real innovations,...

That's understandable. I don't like elves either. (With the exception of Legolas from Lord of the Rings.)

I'm a big Zelda fan, and it is my favorite video game series (My favorite game is Banjo-Kazooie, but series-wise, it's Zelda). I enjoyed Ocarina of Time a lot, but Majora's Mask had a bit more depth. My favorite Zelda game is Wind Waker, because it's just so awesome, and I played it for the most time, just beating it over and over.

Some people prefer games like GTA, others games like Zelda. GTA is okay in short bursts. Personally I prefer Zelda's gameplay style, granted the newer ones have been a bit of a let down. I just find games like GTA get boring after awhile.

I still prefer A link to the Past over Ocarina of Time though.

Zelda Ocarina of Time isn't exactly the best Zelda anymore. But it still remains the most iconic and revolutionary Zelda/game to dates. Being the "funnest" or "best" Zelda is entirely opinion. But its definitely the most memorable one for me.

Unlike elves, Hylians aren't some mystical race. Weird ears yes, but they're not a "noble" race, they don't particularly dwell in forests, and they do age. They're essential humans with retarded ears.

Majora's Mask is IMO under-appreciated. You're right, it does have more depth than maybe any other Zelda game to date.
Its a technical marvel even 10 years later. It really fucks with your mind when you know that your actions do affect the characters and events in the game. While you're in a dungeon, Termina's world still goes on outside. Its not like other Zelda games where people just wait on/for you. I know you already know this, I just love talking about it.

This. They are essentially just humans with a few distinct features (The ears basically). The thing that sets them apart is their royality and rule over Hyrule and the other lands surrounding it such as Termina.

With all this Zelda talk, I'm going to make a Zelda discussion topic, if there isn't already one. Anyone can discuss theories, different stories told out in Zelda games, or just anything.
