Hacking O3DS in 2.2.0 to RxTools

Hello, as simple as it gets:
whats the easiest and safest way to update my 2.2.0 O3DS to 4.5 or 9.2 in order to run RxTools?

Update it with sysupdater? or safesysupdater? or updating it to 10.3 then downgrading it? i have no carts with an update as far as i know.

You can't install sysupdater in that version. Get a game that requires 4.5 firmware then install rxTools

Update by cart to 4.5 (check http://www.3dsdb.com/) (buy one cheap on a secondhand site)
install mset exploit
Get gateway files (actual cartridge not needed)
Make NAND backup and setup EmuNAND
Setup CFW (rxTools

Then downgrade to 9.2

People in firmwares below 4.1 usually don't have a working web browser.

Usual procedure is to update to 4.x with a game cardtridge, use the mset exploit to boot rxTools and then finally use sysupdater with Dev Mode to update to a full 9.2 that includes the web browser and can coldboot CFW.

You have to remember that the 10.3 downgrade has been available for around a week at most, frankenfirmwares have made presence and there is a brick risk everytime, even if it's safer now is not %100 safe as the method mentioned above.

So, there is 2 roads in my eyes
1) The safe longer journey.
2) The easy risky one.
