NXCord

This is an unofficial discord client for the Nintendo Switch. Follow the steps at https://github.com/Grarak/NXCord.
Downloads + Changelogs are here: https://github.com/Grarak/NXCord/releases
If you notice bugs which are not mentioned here, let me know. It also helps when you send me logs, which are located in /config/nxcord/, but you probably want to look at them yourself, they might contain sensitive information!

Any risk getting banned from discord using this ?
Custom clients are against the tos and iirc people got banned for using vitacord but I haven't heard of any bans for that in a while. I'd use caution if you care about your account.

Edit: See Grarak's response below.

IIRC VitaCord doesn't use Websockets so they spammed Discords Servers with h t t p calls. My implementation should be fine, but if you want to be extra cautious you could generate a bot and use that.

Can anyone build this and send it to me please because I am not informed enough on how to do it on my own but want to test out the Discord client.

This is for devs only right now.

Also receiving audio is done.
Just have to implement microphone now and make it work as sysmodule.

v0.4 is on github! I've added support for the tesla overlay, allowing you to change the audio volume of individual participants in voice channel. I also added audio settings, just press Y to open the menu. There are still bugs, therefore I'd recommend you to read through the github page https://github.com/Grarak/NXCord

If you need help to setting up a bot, the github page will guide you as well.

Love the app. works well. had some issues with pokemon sword at first but just found that you need to connect online in game first before connecting to the voice channel afterwards. love the tesla overlay feature too. Thanks

Hi, i was about to test out NXCord but while I try to log me in I get "Failed to parse login response". Am I missing some steps? I downloaded and enabled the sysmodule and rebooted the Switch. I'm on 9.2.0 (Atmosphere 0.10.5).
Thanks!

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
