i use this drives right now, Techpulse 120 and VERBATIM 43890 both got on amazon.
i prefer the techpulse bu both works well.

Since these two are used for nx-laserplayer devel both are 100% compatible.

@voddy @Badablek if you have some free time can pm me a “guide” on how you setup aacs directory for nx-laserplayer beta you tested? I am making README stuff and i want an user exp for doing so.
Thanks a lot!

Ps No links just filenames

@proconsule54 nothing fancy, but here it is :
  • search online for "keydb blu ray" → you should find "keydb_eng.zip" (~20MB) or similar (keydb_fra.zip, keydb_ita.zip, keydb_deu.zip, etc.)(1)
  • open keydb_eng.zip and decompress it to /switch/nx-laserplayer on your microSD card
  • you should now have (next to nx-laserplayer.nro) sdmc:/switch/nx-laserplayer/KEYDB.cfg (~60MB). Warning ! this file is CASE SENSITIVE : KEYDB must be uppercase, .cfg must be lowercase)
  • AACS is now enabled on nx-laserplayer
(1) all these databases contain exactly the same keys, but some titles are localized.

nx-laserplayer 0.0.2

- AACSv1 support (need an external keyfile)
- DVD and Bluray pseudo menu (can select other video contents other than the main one)
- Support for more DVD/BD Drives (0x02 and 0x06 subclass)
- a BIG thanks goes to @voddy and @Badablek for all the tests done on DVD/BD drives

Enjoy!

(is a 0.0.2 version so something may not work perfectly, now that all mayor features are done i can make it more refined)

please update for firmware 21.0 when i go to play a dvd it crashes due to a error and boots me back to the switch home menu this was not a issue on 20.5.0 or lower please fix? its most likely the new abi issue that all home brew apps are having right now

i will do it
i used https://hbpatcher.alula.me/ to patch and it seems to work for my DVDs but not for my BDs.

Edit: BDs work after adding KEYDB.cfg properly.
very good, until i recompile, it works

Anyone tried it? just to know it to release it as stable on github
it doesnt seem to be stable on 21.0.1 yet.
it can
play decrypted (cached) dvds
and bluray

but it cannot decrypt dvd it seems :( sadly i cant give a log at the moment but it crashes 100% of the time it tries to decrypt a dvd.

Hi. I can’t init any dvd cause even when is recognized because apple SuperDrive need some code to admit insert disc. The drive works connected to macOS and need some plus to work with other system

I have opened a issue in GitHub for be considered

Thank you
