Are there special settings for better performance?

Using these games:
Cannon Spike.cdi
Street Fighter Alpha 3.gdi
Tetris 4D.cdi

Everything is in the readme

I think Tetris 4D is windows CE and won't run

You may want to fix:

2 different games in one line.

Some games:
  • Another World = graphics can't be seen, everything is black.
  • Capcom vs. SNK 2 = tex_cache=normal gets the best speed but major sprite glitches. Needs tex_cache=quality, but drops half the speed.
  • Daytona USA 2001 = still half speed, but runs mostly okay.
  • Dolphin Blue = still half speed, but runs mostly okay.
  • Doom 64 = Promising, runs at 100%, but very glitchy graphics.
  • Flashback = DSI crash at boot.
  • Last Hope = hangs at the title screen with music playing.
  • Last Hope - Pink Bullets = hangs with a black screen.
  • Street Fighter Alpha 3 = tex_cache=normal gets the best speed but horrible colors. Needs tex_cache=quality, but drops half the speed. Play Zero 3 instead.
  • Volgarr = still slow, but sound improved a lot since 0.77.
  • Xeno Crisis = playable with horrible colors using tex_cache=very_fast+ or lower. Correct visuals with very slow gameplay using tex_cache=fast or above.
NTSC games that were weirdly capped in the emulator at 50fps in gameplay, and now finally reach 60fps:
  • Capcom vs. SNK Millennium Fight 2000 Pro
  • Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (still can't go past one full fight)
  • Super Street Fighter II X for Matching Service

Ok great thanks for the tests

Another World : use trans_sort or probably anything in 3rd page (depth & sorting)

Capcom vs SNK 2 too bad but we have it native on gamecube anyway

Last Hope Pink Bullets probably need same fix preset as Rez :
mmucr_fix=1

Street Fighter Alpha 3 = tex_cache=normal gets the best speed but horrible colors.
try 4bpp_otpimised and 8bpp_optimised. Maybe switch jojo_fix also

Xeno Crisis :
try vq_cmpr=on alongside very_fast+

Hmm, no. It works almost perfect. 2 players also fine, we play this one regularly.

Bug still present with the user_controls.cfg, Can't customize exit: exit_combo=classic_home is always DC Start anyways. Still stuck with Minus+Plus, which should only affect the Wiimote.

Heh. The most universally panned port of CvS 2 in existence.

No rush to fix it, still cool to have CvS and others.

So you hate the other DC Alpha ports?

Found a bug that was screwing my personal profiles.

For example, the [streetfighteralpha] that comes with the ini is taking over my [Street Fighter Alpha 2] and [Street Fighter Alpha 3] presets. I also tried [Street Fighter Alpha2] and [Street Fighter Alpha3] and of course the same names for the game files, and those are still affected by [streetfighteralpha].

Another example: [yper Street Fighter II], [Street Fighter II], [Fighter II] presets will still be applied on the filename Hyper Street Fighter II.

BTW, great to have working BIOS settings and clock!
MvC 2 is still not allowing me to go past fight 1, though you can exit training mode now without the emulator hanging. It also hangs if left unattended through 2 cycles of intro > title screen > attract mode > intro > title screen. I use cdi, in case any gdi user can confirm it behaves differently.

It's 240p or 480i ? I need to install this. I have no DC, say to myself that Dreamcast and Saturn will be never emulate by the wii, and then I'll needed to buy etch one of them... wrong...

Have you checked out Seta GX? It actually plays multiple Saturn games full speed!

So is it possible to play this rom on nulldcwii ?
It doesn't show full graphics, nor saves what the game asks at first boot, so you'll be stuck with Mini Paprium at boot. Similar situation with the CPS-2 ports, black screen only.

But I bought a saturn and saroo :)
This is the way.

No 240p yet.

I tried it out by chance yesterday. Before launching the game, a message appeared on my CRT screen saying something like: "This game does not work on the emulator because it uses Windows CE, and it likely never will." I went ahead and launched it anyway, and I was absolutely floored by how well it ran... It doesn't run at 100%—there’s some slowdown in certain areas, screen tearing, and a few other glitches—but it’s incredible how well it performs on the Wii.

On the Dreamcast, this game runs at 480p, but on a CRT, it defaults to a rather unsightly 480i. Even so, it still looks quite good, despite the interlaced signal. Keep in mind that 99.99% of the Dreamcast library runs in either 480i or 480p; only about 10 games in the entire catalog run in 240p. It would certainly be unusual to play these Dreamcast titles at 15kHz on the Wii, but I wouldn't complain at all—as a Dreamcast player, one of my constant gripes is the lack of 15kHz support. It would be a welcome addition if this were implemented as an option in the emulator, allowing us to experience these games on a CRT in all their glory.

As for Saturn emulation on the Wii, there are several titles that run at or very near 100% speed, and in those cases, 15kHz output is actually supported.

This one will be awesome on my all mighty 29" trinitron. That could help with performance ?
I own several CRTs, including two 29-inch Trinitrons—one for horizontal arcade games and another for vertical (TATE) games. For the latter, I position the CRT rotated, which is perfect for playing modern TATE-style arcade games; they look absolutely incredible. For older arcade titles, I use other CRTs—for instance, the B&O model shown in the video. It’s excellent for these games because it features a doubly-curved screen geometry; it’s curved along both the horizontal and vertical axes, almost like a bowl. In contrast, Trinitron CRTs are only curved along one axis. While they still look amazing, 15kHz arcade games lose a bit of their visual impact on them. For example, I play *DoDonPachi* on the 29-inch Trinitron, while I play *Anteater* on the B&O.

I’ve asked before whether using 240p might improve an emulator's ability to handle processing speed—or something along those lines—but the answer has always been no. It’s a logical question to ask, since it’s a lower resolution and you might expect it to boost emulator performance, but apparently, that’s not the case.

I know almost nothing in Dreamcast side... This is the perfect opportunity

In my search, someone use that same chassis that I own in a cab the FE-1 with super Trinitron tube, that's quiet excellent. Si maybe more for vs.fighting games. TATE mode should be marvelous with same tube in a cabinet. But heh, I'm in country side not many aficionados around here. I'm hurry to see your results with wiiflow.
but apparently, that’s not the case.
Yes that's what I expected. 240p is more or like a trick. Despite it's progressive, maybe the empty scanlines needs to be processed

I am dying to try this but can't get it running for love nor money... It boots and says it can't find the bios files (I have the correct versions), then it can't mount my SD card. Tried to boot from USB and the same issue and both then show no compatible games in the list.... What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated, playing third strike properly is one of my 3 holy grail games ticked off!!!

Indeed The Readme for the bios was wrong, the good place is :

SD:\apps\nulldc4wii\data\

You should see a Real_wii_Put_bios_here.txt file here

Also I'm not sure but SF33 Arcade should be launchable with RetroArch...no ?

Also Please guys keep the topic clean :

- Open any Issues on Github (or re-open)
- Report compatiblity on Wii Brew
- Just talk about NullDC4Wii here
