Hacking NTSC and PAL?

I been recently searching the forum and most of it asks if we can run NTSC on a PAL wii... What does NTSC and PAL even mean?

NTSC and PAL the format the Wii game sends out.
PAL = Europe
NTSC = America and Japan.
Most Europe TV's can display NTSC and PAL where as few American TV's can play PAL.

That's about video modes. NTSC is used in America, PAL in Europe.

i'm not the best person to answer but NTSC and PAL it's the region , PAL for europian consoles and NTSC for any other country, games haves different regions as well, usually a pal game does not work in a ntsc console and the same the other way around...

people F**k up their wiis when they have modchips that support import game directly, where the idiot* hasn't got rid of the update so they agree to update a NTSC game to a pal wii lol. HOW STUPID.

im glad my wii modchip doesn't allow that, i hav to use geckOS

no forcing either. as my t.v. supports direct pal/ntsc on one input, some t.v.s don't.

Ah i see...So NTSC is similar to USA right? while PAL= EUR?

Officially, Nintendo does not allow PAL video output from an NTSC system.

But homebrew aims to get around such limitations. Like region locking, the inability to read normal DVDs, etc.
