Hello,
I just want to share what i thought about this great but so underrated series called The Outpost.
Set in a medieval age, this world is populated with various living species.
The protagonist is a young woman called Talon, a blackblood who has witnessed her whole clan being killed by the Bones, a group of mercenaries. Years later, Talon will seek revenge against them, and her journey will lead her to the Gallwood Outpost. There, she'll find one of the Bones. After she kills him, it will lead her to the Smith, an old guy who studied prophecies his whole life. He will lead Talon to her destiny and about how to control Lu'quiri, demons who obey only to their blackblood master.
The prophecy of the blackblood will lead to the fall of the Three, leaders of the Covenant, who killed the royal family and usurped the throne with their mysterious power. For example, One has the power to torture peoples with his mind. The Three wear their powers through tiny creatures called kinjes. Talon's kinj allows her to open portal to the Plane of Ashes, where Lu'quiris live, which will rise her army to overthrow the Three and give the throne back to the heir of the royal family.
This summarize pretty much the story behind The Outpost. It is a Cw production, low budget but great special effects. Of course it is obvious that it is low budget, but even for a low budget series, monsters are very VERY well made. There are lot of battles, mainly swords battles. There aren't that much magic though, except from the kinjes. There is a language made fot this series, a blackblood language, but also a writting with a whole story behing it, the yndrian (not sure if i spell it right) which is written by ancient prophets.
This show is simply amazing and i highly recommand it to fantastic medieval fans
