Aye, the latest firmware for the R4 also enables auto DLDI patching, so you don't have to do anything to the homebrew files, just plop them in and play.
The same cannot be said for the very old homebrew though, most of which cannot be patched with DLDI

Yes, there have not been any reported DL play issues for some time.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
