Can I softmod my 360 and play backups safely if I never connect to the internet from the console?

isn't flashing the same as softmodding? Anyway, what I am trying to find is if my xbox will not be banned if I never connect to the internet/xbox live. I will be receiving my new 360 in a few days and just wanted to make sure I am going in the right direction to not get banned.

they cant ban your console if you are not on live as there is no way for them to know, unless they come to ur house and check or use jedi minds tricks.

If your just buyin an xbox then it will have the newer disk drive which i heard is harder to flash or maybe impossible for now, im not sure, just do a quick fourm search or google search

I have one noobish question too:

I have a premodded x360, but I don't play any burned games. If I just flashed the drive with orginal firmware, can I play games in online without bans?

No you wont get banned if you reflash it back to its original firmware.
