Homebrew Noob question

Just found out I can't use my 3DS to transfer DS saves. I have a NDS Lite and I'd like to backup my Heart Gold save, but I have no idea where to start. Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

The answer is in the question. You need a DS or DSi. Our a save dongle.

If you have access to homebrew on your 3DS, you might be able to use TWLSaveTool.
