I had a 3.4U and I followed the guide here:
http://www.tehskeen.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9730

Installed homebrew.
Installed backup launcher 0.3gamma - don't know how to use this though.
Burned image on Imation DVD-R using ImgBurn at 2X

I go into HBC, then backup launcher, then Launch Game.
I also do the reboot with hook - what is this? what does this do?

I go back into backup launcher and Launch Game.

Sometimes, I get the game warning screen, then black screen, then cannot read disk message. I have to turn off and on.

Tried burning several times but same thing.

Is there anything else I should put on? I am a real noob. Not sure how IOS work and what else I need. I am really good at following steps. Please let me know what to do. I read alot and am confused what to do next. What am I missing?

Please let me know. Thanks. If it works, I will help whoever has the same problem.

the rebooter function is for playing the games thru the Disc Channel, if you reboot your wii will be runing over ios249 wich is the cIOS needed to play the backup's, for the DRE (disc read error) you have to:

a)buy better media
b)buy a better writter
c)change your burning speed
d)All of the above

check Da' List and try using ImgBurn to verify that your disc is 1st class, and set the burning speed to auto, some people say (not me) that DVD+R does not work correctly on their Wii's, I think that is BS but well, if you use DVD+R remember to change the book type to DVD-ROM on the software you are using, google somethings in here GBATemp and you'll find everything you need...!!!

Thank you. I burned at 4x on the same Imation DVD-R and all my backups are working now.

Some backups work after rebooting with hooks and some work without.

Just one thing... the download speed for the wii 'torren' is very slow. all else are pretty fast. It will prob be weeks to get the new backups. is there a quicker method?

Thanks for all the answers.
