Hi There

I have a 3DS which has never been updated and is on firmware 1.x
Please could the forum point me to the best way to install CWF.

Follow this guide and you will be fine.

Just follow this guide:https://3ds.guide
Word for word, do not skip steps. And make sure to read everything carefully.
Also as a side note do not use any video tutorial, only the guide linked.
