Great, my first thread is a Panic thread
heres the stitch

I was on gameup downloading a game and half way through the download it freezes
I restart and it says "Couldnt find ds_menu.dat"
I put it into my Laptop and instead of my friggin huge game library it has ONE 1kb file called "bm6@>" or something
wtf do I do now?

Format, start to put it all back onto the card, and start backing up your .sav files.

Have ALL my games and SAVS been erased?

If they aren't on your card anymore, then I'm guessing yes. I have no idea what that file is.

We can't help much if you barely give any info. You didn't even mention which cart you're using.

if you're viewing the entire contents of the SD card (ie: hidden files, all folders, files, etc) and cannot find ant *.sav files, then yes...your files are gone.

Gameup? Put your files on and off manually in the future.
Also, back up your saves every so often as to prevent TRAGEDY.
