if he installs IOS30 with dop ios he'll be installing the original IOS30 that came with the 3.2 update, they've already messed with IOS30 when they installed cIOSCORP or it wouldn't be patched and have no vulnerable ios

well how come when I updated to the latest version of the HBC I had a patched IOS36 all 3 patches and it didn't give me a no vulnerable ios found error

The original IOS30 which came with the 3.2 update it already had the trucha bug so the hackmii installer will accept it

Sure, you can mess with it, it's just generally a bad idea. Just like installing cIOSCORP is generally a bad idea.

My bigger point was just that IOS30 is not "used by some games" but rather is the System Menu itself for certain versions.

Getting a fresh System Menu with dop-IOS is a good idea, and I wasn't refuting that.

Still, the HackMii installer is generally known to use IOS36 to install, although nowadays it installs using a wide array of IOS files. If you press the home button while in the HomeBrew Channel and look in the upper-right corner, you'll see which IOS your installation used. Mine is currently IOS35.

depends on what IOS the HBC runs on launch the HBC and then press home and it'll tell you what IOS it's running on in the top right hand corner

how do you delete cIOSCORP or the failpack without homebrew channel
use an exploit to launch the uninstaller. (smash stack, bannerbomb v2, ect)

or if you have any forwarder channels, temporally replace the dol for one with the uninstaller.

If your on system menu 4.2 and no longer have vulnerable IOS you need to use bannerbomb to run DOPIOS MOD running on IOS 250 to install a clean IOS, IOS 36 shuold be fine that will allow the main hackmii installer to run. If bannerbomb isnt working you have either a the wrong version or b running from wrong location. Get the hack 4.2 pack from ZXZeros guide if on 4.2 for a working version of bannerbomb, if your on 3.x get the update to 4.2 pack from zxzeros guide and use that version of banner bomb, both require running from a different place, but you will need them to run DOP IOS MOD to reinstall a vulnerable IOS, if on 3.2 you might want to install a clean IOS 34 as it isnt used by anything.
