Nothing wrong with being a white knight in moral decisions, but good luck on the persuasion to others my friend.
PC and the 3DS are still doing really great even tho piracy has been a long time option. Ppl will always have their own agenda to what they want out of a hacked console b/c temptation is a thing as well.
With the amount of Wii U ports they keep dishing out it's a hard pill to swallow to buy the same game twice under a full price and if you bought DLC of that port on the Wii U that money/support was wasted

Not sure how you work that one out as every pirated game is a sale lost? :)
I call bulshit people with money can buy what they want and they still might not pay for it. People without money couldn't buy something if it wanted to to but may have the means to get it anorher way. That would not effect sales at all if this is true. But no matter what does shooting games out there and some people are happy that they didn't spend 20 bucks on Madagascar penguins and other crap like dance dance dance on your post

Piracy has never affects sales, I honestly wish people would stop saying that
Not sales but certainly the software house that develop games doesn't make games for a hacked system where people can play gratis your game.
I'm agree, please avoid piracy in that first time ,it's important for the lifespan of the switch .

In the numbers that Nintendo have sold and are still selling these consoles, it is not going to harm them as much as you anticipate. Maybe a percentage of technically minded people will pirate, but the majority who purchased Switches will likely not be technical enough and will enjoy the online shop and online play.

I'm a Chinese gamer. I didn't notice what happened until someone told me “Switch was hacked”.
Before last year, I always played piracy games on my 3DS. Indeed, hacking brought me a lot of translated games. I can enjoy them while pay nothing. A large reason is that Nintendo didn't come to China. Still, I bought my Nintendo Switch from Japan. I thought that I could use my poor English and poorer Japanese to play games but Nintendo released a lot of Chinese games unexpectedly last year.
From then I started to buy authorized games and software. "Maybe it's a good chance to enjoy a ' real console'" . I think.
However, I received the new of " Nintendo Switch has been hacked" a month ago. It's a good news? Surely, I could get those free games again. But should I do that? I have stole so much games on 3DS. I am not willing to be a thief again. Homebrew is a good thing, but piracy games not! Piracy could destroy a good platform and a company.
Please let off a growing platform.

I guess you gotta say all those beautiful words to your own brothers there, dude. Piracy and cheat always comes firstly from your country. Your country polutes the world a lot, your country creates lots of illegal hacks and destroy all the joy with those cheaters online. Look at your own place before you come all the way down here to say such nonsense thing.

No country is innocent, everyone is alike. I just expressed my point of view, no politics, I hope you too.

Some people in my country treat the Japanese like you, but I do not like what they do. This is a blind act.

To the OP. Futile thread. If you really want to do something you could try chatting with your friends and family about piracy and your concerns about it. Coming on to GBAtemp with your concerns really isn't the right place.

More generally, is it just me or aren't some of things being said on this thread totally out of order? An individual can't held accountable for the actions of their nation. It's not your fault where you are born? Sorry but nationalism is just bigotry.

This thread is pointless and ought to be closed.

I don't know that's nationalism, but at least I know that we should deal only with the current situation, instead of discuss "PUBG cheating"

Nintendo... Isnt that the company the Financial Times said the following about, two days ago?

"A three-minute video focused primarily on cardboard, string and rubber bands added nearly $1.4bn to the corporate value of Nintendo on Thursday"

I dont think they qualify as a software company anymore.. ;)

Lets look at how their youtube channel looks like these days...

Nope, definitely not a software company anymore... ;)

They see me as a person who pollutes the world and cheats at PUBG. However, I am just an ordinary Chinese player, nothing more.I think this is created by themselves.

So you seem like a smart guy with valid concerns so im just gonna give you advic on how to get millienials to do something.

Reverse psyschology

It works 90% of the time because for whatever reason people born after 1995 for whatever reason like to ignore what people say and just do the opposite disregarding prior experiences by those around them.

Also subtlty(spelled wrong) sometimes the best way to make something go away is to not bring it up and make those who do it feel alone. Rather then riling up the few hiding under fridge who will then start chasing you as if you were a non-pc person in a college lounge.

Knowledge is power. If you have the skills to pirate, then do it. 99% of the population doesen't have the skills, and doesn't have a clue on where to begin with piracy. Nintendo, and other content producers are hardly affected by piracy. Don't worry about it. Do whatever you want to do, or whatever your skills allow.

At least try harder next time you start to bs.
1. Nintendo went to HK, so you're saying HK isn't a part of China?
2. 3DS was region locked and you bought a Japanese console, not the TW console which runs Chinese games and you're saying Nintendo released a lot of Chinese games which moved you to the non pirate side, tell me which games did you buy or is the “unexpected a lot of Chinese games” you're saying are just Pokemon sm/usum
Tw and hk are different to China.
They use different written Chinese.
Getting a Japanese 3ds ensures the best support, I don't think tw or korean 3ds even got themes lol, or at least it took a while.
Not many games were released with Chinese language, and the real ique 3ds is just a joke.
There are many many 3ds games translated to Chinese by the community.
I know this stuff since I was active a little in the Chinese 3ds community and spoke with few key members. I downloaded a bunch of these translations myself and tested them out.

Vita had a bunch of official Chinese translations.
If it had day 1 piracy, honestly maybe it wouldn't have gotten those translations.
Vita games were some of the only games in game stores that I saw because ps3, 3ds and psp can be pirated so easy and the stores sell you the odes or flashcarts or roms themselves.

It's natural to be worried that Nintendo might support China less if switch can be pirated easily.
In China they want official Chinese translations, but not everyone in China has a lot of money, most people who game play phone games, in Japan or usa most children will have a 3ds but in China it's not the same at all.
Even so, Nintendo gave sun and moon trad and simplified Chinese language options, so they obviously want to be in China.
Chinese people pirate loads of stuff, maybe you heard about windows 10 having a special Chinese version which is cheaper, to try go get them to go legit lol.
China is a huge market bug of course they have to actually buy the games.

I think I would pay for the game knowing is the only way to get it , so nintendo has to put a better security they already do big mistakes in a short time, with tz pwned is just matter of weeks for room loaders

Funny, the most toxic players are in asian region - China and Korea.
But nice try laddie!
Well it definitely seems the most toxic people on this thread are not Chinese.

Do you not realize that pirated games don't reduce sales much at all... in fact piracy is known to Improve console sales and pirated games do not diminish sales those intended on pirating games are going to pirate not buy.
Maybe if a country has high ethics and rules are enforced.
In places like China, you can buy consoles and they will hack it for you and put games on it.
When this is happening in the stores themselves, yeah... people aren't going to buy original ones.
The games are rarely in Chinese anyway, so the translations are going to be rom hacks etc. Very very few will buy, dump and patch the original. Even with jp-en translations here.
Regardless if you believe piracy equating to lost sales, in China it will just mean very few sales anyway because of this rampant piracy problem.
